Project Management for Informatics
You are expected to keep a reflective journal recording what you have learned (including your reflections) in your classes, in your study groups and, most importantly, as part of your self-directed study (your own research). Your research should also consist of locating and critically reviewing peer reviewed articles related to this topic. Report • Critically evaluate some metrics (or combination of metrics) that you could use as a project manager to assess financial viability of a proposed project. • Then, once the project is underway, what could occur that would alert you to the possibility of impending project failure? What solutions/strategies could you adopt for salvaging projects at risk of failure as a result of these occurrences? Make sure you justify your suggestions. These questions should be addressed as a report to the senior management team of your organisation as a proposed strategy for assessing the viability of a project and then ensuring its successful conclusion.
