There is a difference in the approaches adopted to teach children and adults. Using traditional pedagogical methods to teach adults may not result in the desired outcomes. Organisations should consider a move away from pedagogical towards andragogical styles of learning. Within this context, consider a human resource development problem that you have experienced within your workplace.
For this assignment you are required to:
- provide a brief description of your chosen organisation and the specific team or group you which you will be focussing
- provide an evaluation of the learners’ characteristics in this team or group. Use Table 3.1 on page 48 of Delahaye and Choy (2017) to evaluate the characteristics of the learners (employees) the team/group at your chosen organisation
- based on your evaluation of the learner characteristics in your team or group, develop and conduct an evaluation strategy/process for your chosen organisation to identify any core training needs in your team or group
- from the issues identified in your evaluation, develop a training program (s) that needs to be implemented. In developing your program consider the possible learning strategies you will adopt in the training program. Use the hierarchy of learning outcomes to plan and map out the possible learning strategies you will adopt in your organisation. Depending on the issues you have selected, you may have to develop one training program or multiple programs.
The required word length for this assessment is 3000 words (plus or minus 10%).
You need to provide adequate justifications for the learning strategies you will adopt with the help of academic materials. In addition to the textbook, focus on referring to academic sources to improve your understanding of the concepts.
Note: You are required to use the AIB standard report format for this assessment.
Your assessment will be marked according to the criteria outlined in the assessment grading criteria (see supporting files).
