Mobile Cloud Computing In Relation To Healthcare Systems
Mobile Cloud Computing in this modern day plays a vital role on the lives of the people. It provides platform in the World Wide Web, where a person can store many valuable data and share it. Furthermore, it helps the use of facilities that can help to connect other technologies with the mobile devices. Thus, it decreases the burden on physical storage drives that is present in the mobile computing units such as phones, palm tops and tablets. However being a comparatively new technology the use of Mobile Cloud Computing or MCC is still unknown to a large section of the society and this leads to a gap in the knowledge of the topic. There are many who despite of using mobile devices are not accustomed to use the MCC and this can be problematic as in this age many applications require a significant amount of storage space. This can be only done if Mobile Cloud Computing is used in order to store the excess amount of data required for that application (Jemalet al., 2015). Moreover, the issue of the lack of information can make the use of MCC complicated for the users of the mobile devices and this in turn can result in the issue of misplacing valuable data or the loss of it.
Mobile Cloud Computing or MCC is not free of hurdles that might adversely affect the use of the technology. One of the major drawbacks of mobile devices is that they are not efficient enough to run large applications due to the limitation of the ram capacity (Stantchevet al., 2015). Further problems arise from the issue that being a portable device it runs on battery therefore, it has a certain limit of using power to run an application for a significantly long period of time. In addition to that there is also the problem regarding the issue revolving network connections(Lo’aiet al., 2016). All the mobile devices need to use wireless network for the purpose of communicating with other devices, running applications and many other important aspects, but with faulty connections in the network the whole process can get hampered. Moreover, if the device is taken to an area where the reception for network is weak or non-existent then there will be no way to use the MCC process. Additionally there is also the issue revolving the flexibility of the mobile devices as well as the functions that are running on the end of Cloud (Ahmed et al., 2015). The issue with the lack of flexibility will result in the problem where the user will not be able to use various applications that are dependent on the MCC without the set up that he or she uses at his or her home or workplace.
There is also the issue of security and privacy due to the fact that, the data that is being stored in the Cloud can be accessed by the hackers and in other cases, if the data is not properly stored any random user can try to access the data easily (Wang et al, 2015). Moreover, in case the data is being shifted with the help of the servers it can get lost in the network traffic.
This current research topic is chosen in order to understand the concept of Mobile Cloud Computing and the use of this technology in the privacy and security sector of the health care.
Summary of the project
The project in discussion is dedicated to the issue of Mobile Cloud Computing in the sector of the health care department with regards to the privacy and the security issues as well. Moreover, the implementation of the Mobile Cloud Computing in the healthcare sector can be beneficial for the purpose of storing the many data or information regarding the patients of many hospitals and nursing homes (Alizadehet al., 2016). This will be helpful, as the use of MCC will decrease the use of paper for the documentation process regarding the information of all the patients that will be collected by the healthcare facilities.
In addition to that using the Mobile Cloud Computing can make the data sharing process with the other healthcare facilities in case a patient is being transferred to another hospital. Moreover, the use of MCC can also act as a virtual moderator between the patients and the healthcare organizations while the forms related to the information of the patients are being filled up (Guoet al., 2016). It can also aid the process of sharing the results of medical tests faster than any normal procedures.In addition to that, using the MCC will create a platform that will enable the use of other gadgets with the help of the internet and this has also been elaborated in this section.
Summary of the methodology and innovation
In this context, the application of the chosen style of methodology has been summarized in this section of the assignment. The main chosen method for this project is a mix of both quantitative and qualitative format, which falls under the primary data analysis style.
The scope of innovation in this field of technology is very high as the other technologies revolving around the mobile devices are also improving rapidly with each passing day. Further developments in the Mobile Cloud Computing will also improve the implementation process of the technology in the major healthcare sectors (Cardelliniet al., 2016). Moreover, with the development in the networking and the mobile technology this will progress even more.
With the help of this process, there can be major improvements in the healthcare departments in order to provide information or share those information’s with other healthcare organizations or any other organization. Not only that, this will act as a model for bridging the gap between the client and the servers of the healthcare systems as well as other major sectors that uses the mobile technology to collect data and the MCC to store it (Zhang et al., 2017). Moreover, the Mobile Cloud Storage has the potential to become a huge platform with the passing of time therefore, if the people get encouraged to utilize this system more often then it will create a major improvement in the process of data collection and storage. Along with this, the capacity that MCC provides can act as a platform for bulk storage and share of valuable data.
The Cloud Computing system originally came to being in the year 2006 under the plan of Google. In this process, the major applications can be used with the help of the internet in order to provide assistance and services to the users of the technology. Among this process, Mobile Cloud Computing is coming to the foreground in the recent days. This system provides the user of a mobile device the necessary platform needed to store and process data that will happen outside of the mobile device. With the help of this Mobile Cloud Computing,the applications and the computational process can be shared to wider range of people who are using the services provided by the MCC. This will provide the mobile devices with much more capabilities as well as providing the services that a personal computer can receive with the help of the internet. Addition improvements can be observed in the case of developments in the applications that are used by portable devices such as mobile and tablets.
While the Mobile Cloud Computing can help the data collection, share, application operations in various sectors but there can be a more benefit if the technology gets used in the healthcare sectors throughout the globe. This can be beneficial for the purpose of sharing information in an urgent basis throughout the users of the Mobile Cloud Computing services (Jararwehet al., 2016). With the help of this system crucial bio-information’s related heart rate monitoring, scans of vital organs, ECG reports, city and cat scan reports can be shared with other healthcare facilities and the patients as well.
This assessment will help the understanding of the concepts related to Mobile Cloud Computing as well as the services that can be received with the application of the system in a broader perspective.
3. Related work
This section is one of the most crucial sections in an assessment for this portion highlights the necessary tasks that need to be undertaken by the researcher in order to carry the project forward. With the aid of this section, the design and the framework needed for the research can be better comprehended and then the tasks to complete them will be done accordingly.
The researcher has considered the positive approach in relation to the philosophy of the research being done on the chosen topic. The deductive approach will be helpful as in this method the previous models and theories in relation to this chosen topic of Mobile Cloud Computing will be taken into consideration while commencing the research.
Further improvement in the chosen topic can be achieved if the researcher can try to implement the proper planning regarding the current assignment. The choice of a proper design for the project will act as moderator to increase the collection of the information in this context.
In this process, the primary approach to the data collection has been chosen, as it will provide the benefit of a clearer assessment for the chosen topic (You et al., 2016). In the primary method the use of both qualitative and the quantitative styles has been chosen for this will be of great help for the gathering of the data needed to significantly assess the process of computing and implementing the services of Mobile Cloud Computing systems in a broader aspect as well as in the healthcare sector.
For the data collection, process the researcher has decided to take the idea of taking both surveys and interviews. The plan of the researcher is to conduct a survey with the chosen target sample of 200 people who are currently using the MCC or Mobile Cloud Computing in the healthcare systems. In addition to that, the notion of taking interviews of the 6 managers who are currently working in the organizations who are prolifically using the Mobile Cloud Computing systems(Benkhelifaet al., 2015).For the purpose of sharing the data or information or for the use of technologies that use the Mobile Cloud Computing systems in order to run any form of applications or procedures, in those organizations have also been discussed.
Critical justification of MCC
In this context, the researcher has considered various articles where the benefit of the Mobile Cloud Computing in the sector of healthcare has been discussed by other researchers who have previously worked on this topic. It is noted by the researcher that the implementation of the MCC can provide higher amount of mobility, privacy and security as well as reduction of the cost related to provide services regarding the internet facilities in order to run applications and share information (Gaiet al., 2016). This also improves the efficiency of the healthcare sector as well as the overall functions of the systems using the technology. In addition to that it helps in collaborating with other sectors that are using the Mobile Cloud Computing technologies as well. Other than that, there is also the mobility issue regarding the use MCC. In the MCC technology, the user can get the benefit of the mobility and portability that is offered due to the fact that the technology utilizes the networking channels of the internet (Chen et al., 2015). Furthermore, the process of using this MCC system can provide a good amount of speed while running an important application regarding the healthcare or in the case of sharing information of important reports of the patients.
There are some advantages and disadvantages in regards to the use of Mobile Cloud Computing and if these are analyzed properly an idea can be formulated about the Mobile Cloud Computing systems in the section of the healthcare.
Major advantages of MC
- The use of MCC will increase the capacity of the storage of data and the power to process
- This will also impact positively on the battery of the devices under the use of the MCC system
- With the improvements in the technologies there is the scope for further progression with MCC
- The MCC system can be implemented with relative ease if there is proper infrastructure.
Major disadvantages of MCC
- The main problem can be a result of the poor rate of bandwidth
- There is also the disadvantage of the technological availabilities in some parts of the world where the economy is a bit backwards.
- There is also the problem of the lack of security in case of storing valuable information in the Cloud storages with the help of portable devices.
- The quality of the services can become a bit on the higher scale in terms of price, as a user or consumer will need to pay more money in order to get better services in MCC with regards to healthcare.
4. Research on Mobile Cloud Computing
The application of the Mobile Cloud Computing has the potential to create a more efficient and productive system in the healthcare sector by sharing and providing services through the network channels. Moreover, with the utilization of the MCC the major healthcare sectors can use more than one device in each medical room, which will use the same-shared data regarding the information of the patients that had been collected by the healthcare sectors.
4.1 Problem statement
Although the whole notion of the technology is highly beneficial and has an innovative aspect to it but there are some problems or drawbacks that can hamper the overall use of the Mobile Cloud Computing technology. This is mainly due to the fact that, many people are in the darkness about the use of the Mobile Cloud Computing systems (Abawajy and Hassan, 2017). There are many sections of the world where, there are people, who do not know the proper system with which, the Mobile Cloud Computing functions. More importantly there are also the issue regarding the establishment of the proper infrastructure for the smooth functioning of the Mobile Cloud Computing systems in the healthcare sectors worldwide.
The researcher had to face these issues while researching about the Mobile Cloud Computing systems. In addition to that, there is also the problem revolving around the mass implementation of the technology due to the lack of infrastructures in many countries. The issue of lack of knowledge can be a problematic even while the data collection process is being conducting for the purpose of a general survey for the help of carrying forward the project.
4.2 Aim and objectives
The main aim of the assessment is to consider the importance of the implementation of the Mobile Cloud Computing in the healthcare sectors.
There are some objectives for implementing the Mobile Cloud Computing systems, these are:
- To provide a better understanding of the concept of Mobile Cloud Computing systems
- To locate the problems in MCC systems
- To understand the benefits of using the MCC in the healthcare sectors
- To suggest better implementation of the chosen system
4.3 Expected outcomes
With the proper understanding provided by this project, it will be beneficial for anyone to utilize the systems more efficiently. The knowledge to use the MCC can prove to be a major influence in the sector of healthcare services. The way MCC affects the data sharing process or application-running process will prove to create a more optimized system in the healthcare filed (Griebelet al., 2015).
With the help of the Mobile Cloud storage the accessing of the healthcare related information’s can be a easy feat and this can be of benefit for providing fast pace healthcare services to the patients in case of crucial medical emergencies.
4. 4 Methods and Innovation
For the purpose of implementing the MCC systems in a larger scale the proper methods needs to be followed by the Healthcare sectors. This includes the attempt to provide proper education regarding the implementation of the MCC systems all over the world and especially in the Healthcare centers (Karacaet al., 2019). In addition to that, the government and the private health care sectors need to properly upgrade the infrastructure in order to implement the utilization of the MCC systems in a mass scale.
The freedom to the unobstructed use of internet in the healthcare sectors will definitely boost the application process of the Mobile Cloud Computing highly (Karacaet al., 2019).
Addition to that, the project also proposes some ideas with which the researcher will further progress the research. Along with this the methods that will prove to be highly effective for the data collection process have also been highlighted for making this an efficient assignment.

Abstract: Mobile cloud computing (MCC) is a new technology for mobile web services. Accordingly, we assume that MCC is likely to be of the heart of healthcare transformation. MCC offers new kinds of services and facilities for patients and caregivers. In this regard, we have tried to propose a new mobile medical web service system. To this end, we implement a medical cloud multi-agent system (MCMAS) solution for polyclinic ESSALEMA Sfax—TUNISIA, using Google’s Android operating system. The developed system has been assessing using the CloudSim Simulator. This paper presents initial results of the system in practice. In fact the proposed solution shows that the MCMAS has a commanding capability to cope with the problem of traditional application.
