Strategic Planning

Strategic Planning of an organisation is the formulation of strategic plans documented in a ordered way keeping in mind the various aspects of an organisation. It is done for the purpose of implementing the plan in order to achieve organisational success.

Assessment of how business missions, Visions, Objectives, Goals and
core competencies inform Strategic Planning:-

Under this heading we will discuss how the above mentioned aspects are important for strategic Plan formulation. This can be done in a systematic way if we take aspects one at a time under the sub headings as mentioned below.
Mission of an Organisation:- The mission of any organisation is the purpose for which it is set up. It states and clarifies

  • what the organisation provides to its customers
  • who are the main target of any business and
  • Customers live in a society,

So it’s the value the Business wants to provide to the society. The business mission of an organisation identifies the scope of the organization specifying the product it offers and the market it serves. A well conceived business mission statement defines an organisation’s purposes which are fundamental and unique to make it different from the rival organisations operating in the same field.

In the “We travel” organisation, the mission is to provide unique travel experience to its various diverse clients across the world. Therefore the strategic Plan formulation has to be done keeping in mind its stated mission which must be accomplished, in other words the

Vision of an organisation:- It refers to the description of an organisation’s aspirations in terms of what the organisation wants to achieve. An organisation’s Vision is generally mid- term future oriented or long term future oriented. The Vision serves as a guide in choosing courses of action to be taken. The Vision of “We travel” organisation is to make its service of providing unique travel experience bigger and better.

“We travel” aims to provide unique

Objectives:- Objective of an organisation is the  result expected at the end of planned activity. They state what is to be achieved and when is it to be achieved and also how much if possible. The objectives should be measurable, specific, realistic, time bound, and attainable. For the purpose of acronym this five adjectives can be arranged to look as SMART.

To put it simply an Organisation’s objective has to be smart. The organisation’s mission should be accomplished by accomplishment of its objectives. Objectives should be short term and also long term. The accomplishment on Objectives heavily influences the mission and vision of an organisation. In “We travel” the organisational objective is to promote tourism in Australia and also in other places by providing best possible travel experience to its client.
